We open on Wednesday 22nd March 2023 & we close on Sunday 5th November 2023.
Although COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, the virus is still with us.
If you are feeling unwell with COVID-19 like symptoms (a high temperature or shivering [chills], a new continuous cough, a loss or change in your sense of smell or taste, shortness of breath, feeling tired or exhausted, an aching body, headache, sore throat, a blocked or runny nose, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, feeling or being sick) we have a small supply of lateral flow tests available in the office.
Please help stop the spread!
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Update: Guidelines effective from 1st April 2022.
From 1st April 2022 there will be no remaining domestic COVID-19 restrictions left in force in England.
We will no longer be asking customers to wear masks in the caravan park shop or office, although we will still continue to provide hand sanitiser. With this in mind, we would ask you to continue to respect other people's personal space and not 'crowd' the shop if it is already busy, as some of our customers are understandably still nervous and others are considered vulnerable.
With the relaxing of restrictions we have also altered our hire terms and conditions slightly from last season. We will continue to use specialist anti-viral cleaning products to clean and sanitise the caravans but we are no longer fogging as standard. Fogging will, however, still be available on request and will continue to be free of charge. We are continuing to provide 'inventory boxes', containing crockery, cutlery, etc, so we can ensure that everything is washed and sanitised between customers.
Our visiting touring caravan customers won't see much change from last season as we are continuing to use our antiviral cleaning products.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our owners and visitors for their co-operation and support throughout the pandemic and hope we can continue to rely on your co-operation in keeping everyone safe, as we move towards 'normality'.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Update: Guidelines effective from 19th July 2021.
Today, 12th July, the government have confirmed changes to existing guidelines to their COVID 19 Roadmap (step 4) which will come into force on 19th July. Below we have listed the pertinent changes and how we propose to manage them in our work and public spaces.
COVID 19 Response: Summer 2021 Guidance
(https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-response-summer-2021-roadmap/covid-19-response-summer-2021)
* The legal requirements to wear a face covering will be lifted in all settings.
Although there will be no legal obligation for staff or customers to wear face coverings, we will continue to wear them in our shop/reception, whilst existing quarantine rules are in force, and would be obliged if you could also continue do so.
Why are we asking you to do this? Firstly, not all of our staff have been fully vaccinated yet, secondly under current rules should a member of Laburnum staff test positive for COVID 19, or be contacted by Track and Trace, it would most likely result in all of the staff having to isolate for 10 days. We are obviously anxious for this not to happen, so by continuing to wear face coverings and by asking customers to continue to wear theirs in the shop/reception area we hope to minimise the risk of this situation arising.
We would also ask that you continue to adhere to the two-customer limit in the shop, for similar reasons.
* Social distancing rules (2 metres or 1 metre with additional mitigations) will be lifted. You should continue to consider the risks of close contact with others, particularly if you are clinically extremely vulnerable or not yet fully vaccinated. Guidance will be updated based on the latest clinical evidence this summer.
Although there will be no mandatory social distancing as such, we would ask you to respect those around you, as understandably, some people may wish to remain 'socially distanced' from others.
* Businesses will be encouraged to ask staff and customers to clean their hands regularly and clean surfaces that people touch regularly.
We will continue to provide hand sanitiser in the shop/reception and would ask you to continue to use it.
* Businesses will be encouraged to display QR codes for customers to check in using the NHS COVID-19 app, to support NHS Test and Trace, although it will no longer be a legal requirement.
Our QR code will remain on the noticeboard for your use.
Finally, last year we made changes to our caravan hire T&C's. These changes, along with our existing precautions, will remain in force until the end of the season.
The government continue to offer the following advice:
Lifting restrictions does not mean that the risks from COVID-19 have disappeared.nbsp; Instead, it marks a new phase in the Government's response to the pandemic during which people need to manage the risks to themselves and others as the country learns to live with the virus. Building on the updated guidance on meeting friends and family, announced as part of step 3, the Government will provide advisory guidance on how people can manage the risks to themselves and to others. It sets out how the following behaviours are beneficial:
1. Meeting in well-ventilated areas where possible, such as outdoors or indoors with windows open.
2. Wearing a face covering where you come into contact with people you don't normally meet in enclosed and crowded spaces.
3. Washing your hands with soap and water or using hand sanitiser regularly throughout the day.
4. Covering your nose and mouth when you cough and sneeze.
5. Staying at home if unwell, to reduce the risk of passing on other illnesses onto friends, family, colleagues, and others in your community.
6. Considering individual risks, such as clinical vulnerabilities and vaccination status.
The Government will continue to urge people to get vaccinated, and to self-isolate and get tested if they have symptoms. It will remain a legal requirement for people to self-isolate if they test positive or are told to do so by NHS Test and Trace.
Individuals may choose to limit the close contact they have with those they do not usually live with, to reduce the risk of catching or spreading COVID-19, particularly if they are clinically extremely vulnerable. It is important to respect and be considerate of those who may wish to take a more cautious approach as restrictions are lifted.
We would like to thank you all for supporting all the measures we have had in place over the past two seasons and look forward to your continued co-operation.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Update : Test & Trace.
Last year we asked everyone to let us know when they would be visiting their caravans so we could keep a log, for Test & Trace purposes.
This year we are asking everyone (both owners and visitors) to check in using the NHS COVID-19 App and our QR code below (you can also find our QR code on our shop door).
For those of you who do not wish to use the App we have a paper register in the shop where you can sign in.
Please be aware that there have been recent updates to the Test & Trace rules which mean that every person in a group must check in at a venue, rather than one lead member as before.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Roadmap : Step 2.
Yesterday's announcement by the Prime Minister confirmed the roadmap is on track and that the planned easements of Step 2 (of the easing of COVID restrictions) can go ahead.
This means that we are able to open on the 12th April, (albeit without the use of the Laundry Room facilities and without the use of the shower and toilet facilities for our Touring Caravan and Motorhome customers).
We will be continuing with many of the COVID precautions we had in place last season;
* Please adhere to the 2m (6ft) social distancing rule with everyone using the caravan park, including anyone just passing through.
* You understand that you are coming to your caravan entirely at your own risk, accepting that we (Laburnum Caravan Park Ltd) are doing everything we can to ensure your safety.
* If you feel unwell, you will isolate yourself (with your family group), and follow appropriate guidance current at the time. When possible, you should return to your primary residence as soon as you can safely do so.
* If you are unwell with symptoms of COVID 19, please seek help from a healthcare professional. Our staff are not qualified or available to help you in this regard.
* If you choose to socialise with other owners, it must be at a 2m distance, outside, and in groups no larger than 6 people or 2 households (at the time of writing).
* We would advise you that only two customers are allowed in the shop at any time and face coverings must be worn, hand sanitizer is also provided for your use on entering the shop.
Last year we had no COVID related issues and this was down to your co-operation, we know we can rely on your continued co-operation this season.
Finally, please could we ask you to give us the usual 3 days notice to enable us to re-instate your caravan, ready for your first visit. We will test your water, etc, but will be re-flushing your toilets and leaving your kitchen tap open, as there is still the possibility of frost - please remember to close your kitchen tap before you turn your water on.
We look forward to seeing you all very soon.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Roadmap : PM's announcement 22nd February 2021.
As you are aware we had intended to open on 3rd March this year however, following the terms of the most recent Lockdown and the Prime Minister's 'Roadmap' address yesterday evening, this is no longer possible.
It is anticipated that caravan parks will be permitted to open from the 12th April 2021, we are therefore revising our opening date to mirror this. (Please be mindful that this date may be subject to governmental review if things don't continue to improve).
We are really disappointed to find ourselves in this position again and know you will be equally disappointed but on the plus side it much earlier than any of us had anticipated. Please be assured that we will continue to work to maintain the caravan park so we are in a position to open at the earliest opportunity possible. As usual, please could we ask all our owners to give us at least 3 days notice before your first visit, as there is still the possibility of frost in April.
In the meantime stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you all back soon.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Roadmap : PM's announcement scheduled for 22nd February 2021.
As we head nearer our scheduled opening date of 3rd March 2021 we are receiving an increasing number of calls from our owners querying this opening date.
The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, will be setting out his Government's Roadmap on how restrictions will be 'relaxed' over the coming weeks and months, in an announcement to the country on 22nd February 2021.
Until this announcement has been made we are unable to confirm whether we will be permitted to open on the 3rd March or not.
What we therefore propose to do is to continue to work towards our scheduled opening date until the PM's announcement. We will then assess the situation and advise you all accordingly, as swiftly as we are able.
Thank you for your understanding and patience in this matter.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update : New Government Guidelines and Nationwide Lockdown from 6th January 2021.
We have now entered our third Nationwide Lockdown and, although we are not yet open, we anticipate that the COVID-19 precautions we had in place during the 2020 season will need to remain in place, certainly for the early part of the 2021 Season.
We will continue to update you through this webpage and, where necessary, by email and or letter.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update : New Government Guidelines from 5th November 2020
New Government Guidance measures have been put into place, effective from 5th November, limiting what we are permitted to do, in an attempt to control rising rates of COVID 19 across the country. Although this is not yet set in law Parliament are due to formalize these measures on Wednesday 4th November.
It is planned that these new measures will apply nationally for four weeks from Thursday 5th November up to Wednesday 2nd December.
Under the new Guidance overnight stays and holidays away from primary residences will not be allowed - including holidays in the UK and abroad. This includes staying in a second home, this includes your caravan.
We had intended for the caravan park to remain open until 29th November however this now looks impossible as everyone is being asked to avoid all non-essential travel and not to stay in their second homes under the new Guidance.
We understand that this will be disappointing news to many of you, as it is to us.
If any of you are struggling to close down your caravan before the Guidelines come into force, please do get in touch with the office.
With this in mind we are intending to commence draining-down caravans once these measures have been brought into force.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update : Track, Test & Trace
We now have our own QR code for use with the government's Test & Trace App.
You'll find a copy on our Noticeboard.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update : Refuse & Recycling
For the time being we will not be taking in used Newspapers for the scouts.
Please could you put all glass straight in the Bottle Bank as we will not be collecting it from the crates at the Beeston end refuse point. This is a temporary arrangement as we need to eliminate any potential risks to the well-being of our staff.
Finally, (and we know this goes without saying but...) please remember to wash your hands after using the communal refuse bins and bottle bank.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update : Revised Booking and Hiring Conditions
To enable us to continue to safely facilitate the hiring of our caravans we have had alter our booking and hiring terms.
Please click on the link or visit our dedicate 'Hire' webpages -
Under the Government's new NHS 'Test & Trace' programme we will need to know who is on the caravan park at any given point in time. We will need to hold the names and contact details of all visitors to the caravan park (including owners) and record arrival and departure dates. We are required to keep this information for a period of 21 days.
We would therefore be obliged if you could keep us updated of your movements, on and off the park. A brief email is the best way to do this - thank you.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update : 24th June 2020
The Government have authorized caravan parks to open on 4th July. Laburnum Caravan Park will therefore be opening on that day.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update : Preparation for Opening - a letter sent to all owners 4th June 2020
To ensure everyone's safety, we are writing to you now with our plans for safe social distancing and changes that will be in place when you arrive and stay at the site. So, with this in mind, we would respectfully ask that :
* You always adhere to the 2m (6ft) social distancing rule with everyone on the site, this applies to other owners, staff, the builders on site and local residents.
* You understand that you are coming to your caravan entirely at your own risk, accepting that we (Laburnum Caravan Park Ltd) are doing everything we can to ensure your safety.
* You should not enter anyone else's caravan.
* If you feel unwell, you will isolate yourself (with your family group), and follow the appropriate guidance as issued at the time. When possible, you should return to your primary residence as soon as you can safely do so.
* If you are unwell with symptoms of COVID 19, please seek help from a healthcare professional. Our staff are not qualified or available to help you in this regard.
* If you choose to socialise with other owners, it must be at a 2m distance, outside, and in groups no larger than 6 people (at the time of writing).
Other changes:
* Fred and Catherine are, of course, still available to help you. However, our preferred method of communication will be via phone or email.
* Please use the site number 01263 837473, or email laburnum.caravan@btconnect.com. You can raise any problems you may have this way, and you can order gas and newspapers also.
* The shop will be open from 8am to midday Monday to Saturday and 8.30am to midday on Sundays. It will be selling a limited stock of items.
* We would advise you that only one person is allowed in the shop at a time. Please queue as per the guiding markers on the ground outside, which are marked out at 2m intervals. We will provide hand sanitizer for your use before entering the shop. There will also be one way in and one way out system operating for the shop.
* The side door to the office is strictly 'no entry'.
* The shower and toilet blocks will be closed
* The laundry facilities will be closed.
* You will be able to use the tennis court, play ball games, and use the playing field - whilst observing social distancing. Please remember to wash your hands after using these facilities.
* Sadly, due to the building work and also COVID 19 - the playground area will be out of bounds. As soon as it is safe to do so, we will re-open this area.
* If you are planning to sub-let your caravan during the summer, please can you discuss this with Fred or Catherine first, as they will be able to advise what the current legal position is.
As restrictions to our daily lives are lifted, we will constantly review the precautions listed above. We are very much looking forward to opening again and welcoming you back to the site.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update - 14th May 2020
Having reviewed the latest government advice produced this week, where it confirms that you are now allowed to drive to outdoor open spaces, including beaches and beauty spots, irrespective of distance. We have found that the government have also quite clearly stated that you should not stay overnight and that campsites and caravan parks are still to remain closed.
This is very disappointing, but obviously we support all the measures to bring the coronavirus under control.
Whilst we are unable to allow any visitors to the park at this current time, we will continue to review the situation and look forward to seeing you all as soon as we are permitted to open.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update - 11th May 2020
Following the Prime Minister's announcement yesterday there is still uncertainty as to how the new guidelines will impact on us. It is our intention to open as soon as we are legally able to do so, however, we are awaiting clarification later today and will update this page as soon as we have any more information on when we are likely to be able to re-open.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update - 17th April 2020
Following on from yesterday's government briefing, when it was confirmed that the lockdown would continue for another three weeks, we can confirm that the caravan park will continued to remain closed until such a time as the government advises that we may re-open.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update - 24th March 2020
Further to our most recent statement and the Prime Minister's address yesterday evening we are writing to confirm that Laburnum Caravan Park will be closed until such a time as the government advises otherwise.
For those of you who have made holiday bookings (in either our hire caravans or on our touring field) it is with regret that we will not be able to honour any of the bookings made for April and May. We will be contacting everyone who is affected individually to discuss their options.
We are hopeful that if everyone adheres to the Government's advice that this outbreak can be controlled and concluded more swiftly.
In the meantime, stay safe and we look forward to when we can welcome you all back.
Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update - 23rd March 2020 (18.00)
Further to our recent letter we are writing to update you on what we intend to do, in light of the current coronavirus outbreak and government guidelines.
The most recent Government advice, published this morning, is that 'Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People should remain in their primary residence'. We understand that this advice may not be welcome, but we would respectfully ask you to adhere to this advice.
If, however, you are still electing to travel to the Caravan Park, there will be greatly reduced services available.
We will not be opening the shower blocks, laundry room or shop. There will also be no face to face contact with staff. Should anyone require gas it can be ordered by either email (laburnum.caravan@btconnect.com) or over the telephone (01263 837473), payment can then be made by card over the telephone.
We must insist that everyone adhere to the 2-metre social distancing directive, this includes not only our staff but any external contractors on site. Please be aware that locally many businesses, attractions and car parks have already closed.
We are conscious that we may be forced, in the near future, to close the park under the instruction of the Government, at which point you would be asked to return home to your primary residence.
We will continue to use this section of our website to communicate any changes as and when they happen.
Important Information regarding the current Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak
The health of our owners, employees and the local community is the highest priority in these challenging times and must be guaranteed in the best possible way. We are therefore writing to you concerning the current coronavirus outbreak.
It is still our intention to open the caravan park on the 1st April however we will be monitoring government guidelines and will be reviewing our stance in line with the latest Public Health England (PHE) advice, which includes increased cleanliness and hygiene procedures as well as travel advice.
Obviously, we will be taking all the necessary precautions and would ask that anyone displaying symptoms of the virus to please stay at home. Within the Laburnum community we have a good many people who fall into the designated vulnerable categories and we would ask that you to show consideration to them by not using your caravan to self-quarantine or for social isolation (should these measures be introduced to the over seventies).
Should you be taken ill while you are at your caravan we would ask you to call 111 for medical advice, as our staff are not medically trained, and we would ask you to return home to self-quarantine.
Current government health information and advice can be found on the NHS website -
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
As the situation is rapidly changing we will be using this section of our website to communicate any changes in our position, as necessary.
